My name is Adonis Alcantara. I’m a 22-year-old senior at UMB studying Business and Communication. I enjoy learning about new material which is why I found interest in this topic. I, myself, am not a consumer of weed, but there are plenty of people who I know who do so daily. I feel as if this topic is, and will forever be, a controversial topic, therefore I wanted to dive into the details behind regulating weed. This is a culture that keeps growing as days goes on and because I have a passion for the business side of things, I feel as if there can be a possibility of creating a business out of something pertaining to this matter in the future.
My name is Conor Elwell. I’m a 23-year-old senior at UMass Boston. I’ve lived in Massachusetts my entire life until last year when I moved to Florida for a year. I do not know much about weed culture, however, I do enjoy learning about it. My objective is to be open-minded and get others opinions on the matter of “Weed Culture” This includes speaking with members of the community as well as polling on social media. This will help us better understand what people know and what we can focus on to improve the overall view of the culture.
My name is Garrett Lloyd and I’m a 22-year-old lifelong resident of Boston. I’m currently a senior at UMass Boston, pursuing degrees in both Marketing and Communication. I’m very interested in the business of public relations and public affairs, specifically the legislative branch of the government and public service. I enjoy learning about how certain laws are made and how policies are put forth, which is why I’m most certainly interested in this topic of the regulation of weed. Not just the regulation of marijuana legally, but also socially. I take on this issue full circle, incorporating all perspectives on this topic. I’m looking forward to viewing many different stances on this topic and observing how one’s legal views on marijuana influences their overall views of the culture itself.
My name is Aidan Mackay and I am 23 years old. I have lived in Boston for 4 years as a UMass student pursuing a degree in marketing and entrepreneurship. I am looking forward to learning more while sharing what I already know through the use of interviews and informational videos. I hope you enjoy our content and continue to check back for updates and information.
Aloha Readers! My name is Alanna Stewart-Bell-Jaques and I'm originally from Kaimuki, Hawaii, residing in the Greater Boston area since 2006. I have 2 associate degrees, with honors, in business and fine arts from Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada. I'm currently completing my studies in entrepreneurship this year while trying to embark into business within the emerging cannabis industry. The currently proposed laws for licensing will make doing so hard for smaller cultivators and businesses alike, which is why staying informed and getting involved in the discussion at this stage of the process is so important. I would like to pass along the information I find to you, our readers, to keep the discussion going. Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you at one of the meetings or other cannabis-related events going on locally across the state, or at least connect with you online. Let's get the information pipeline going as emerging leaders in this field together!
